Little Signers Club

Hello, my name is Jennie and I am your Little Signers Club teacher for Oxford and Cumnor areas. I live in Oxfordshire with my husband and two little daughters.

As the sole English person in our multi-lingual household, I decided to use signs with our first daughter to tie all four languages
together and was amazed and enthralled when I found her signing back to me at five months old. I knew I was on to a good thing!
Three years on, we still enjoy using signs together and find it is a natural part of our conversations, relieving frustration when we don't
understand each other, and adding another dimension to our communication that is both expressive and huge fun.  Her baby sister
is now following in her footsteps, and my husband was over the moon when he realised our littlest one was telling him she wanted milk - by signing it to him!

My background is in languages and clinical linguistics, and in recent years I have been promoting signing and various methods of
communication for people with a learning disability. It’s great to have the theory that beautifully underpins the world of baby signing,
however, classes are simply about having fun while learning signs together with your little one through stories, rhymes and puppets.
