What’s involved?
Our Practitioner training totals around 75 hours and involves:
- Approximately 25-35 hours of self study and preparation from our recommended signing and development resources which you complete at home
- Approximately 20 hours of theoretical and evidence based essays and questionnaires to complete as well as business planning tools to help you understand how your business will fit into your existing commitments
- Interim meeting and / or telephone calls / email support to discuss your knowledge, practical skills and any questions if needed
- 6 hours of practical tuition with your nearest local teacher in a class environment which will be arranged as soon as your paperwork and fees have been received; this is critical in understanding the Little Signers Club ethos and classes
- 16 hours of face to face training over two days during which time you will
- Gain your 0-3 communication development training accreditation
- Be assessed on your signing knowledge
- Discuss practical business solutions to running successful classes in your area
- Receive specialist training to enable you to welcome deaf, hard of hearing and SEN children into you classes with confidence
- Receive an introduction to British Sign Language
- Meet other members of the Little Signers Club team
- Refreshments and meals provided
In addition you will be expected to commit to attending your BSL level one at a local college at some point during your first year with us. (This qualification normally takes an academic year but please check with your local college for details and costs.)
What does it cost?
Little Signers Club Baby Signing Practitioner Training costs just £1295.00 with an annual renewal fee of £450.00 fee to be paid for as long as you are with us. There are plenty of ways to develop your business too. With no VAT to pay during 2012, you save a further 20% on your fees, giving you simply great value for money. What’s holding you back?
Not sure if you have the time to commit to training?
Some of the training is self directed study and you can do this easily over a period of weeks or months before your Completion training session. You attend your practical tuition over a period of 6 weeks, or if you are finding it impossible to reach a session, we can run through things over Skype with you.
You’d love to become a Practitioner, but what about the cost?
We’re very happy to discuss payment plans with you so that you can spread the cost of training with us.
You are not sure that you have the right experience?
You don't have to have any special qualifications to be eligible for our training, but a genuine love of babies or experience of working with young children and their parents is essential. We can teach you everything else.
