Little Signers Club

Hi! I'm Sue, your Little Signers Club Teacher for Stevenage, Letchworth, Hitchin and Baldock areas.

I live in Stevenage, and I am mum to 3 wonderful signing children Ryan, Kian and Eden aged from 11 to 5. I passed my stage 1 BSL in 1996 and have been using signing for work and fun ever since! All my children have been signing since birth and I firmly believe their academic success is partially down to this early communication. I am passionate about children and families, I am a school governor and a beaver scout assistant leader in my spare time. I also run a sign language choir at my children’s primary school.

I am also a doula (an experienced woman who works with women and their families to support them during birth and afterwards). This means that I occasionally attend births at short notice and to ensure that LSC sessions are unaffected by this I am pleased to be working closely with Danni, my niece, to provide Little Signers Club sessions that are friendly and as enjoyable for you and your baby as they are for us.

Courses Offered

Baby Signing Basics™ Course (BSB) - Our 6 week BSB course starts you on your signing journey, covering about 100 signs in a relaxed and easy manner, focusing on your baby's daily routines. We will also cover how speech and language develops and provide you with handy tips for signing at home. The course includes a copy of our lovely course book, Signing Hands; Baby Signing Basics (Finalist, Baby Show for Trade 2010).

Sign, Rhyme  and Jump!™ Course (SRJ) -  Lively and informal drop in style classes that are specifically geared towards toddlers and pre-schoolers.  Based very loosely around a theme each week, there is plenty of singing, signing and active play to gently engage your little one.  Each session is £3.00 per mum and baby and includes refreshments as well as time to meet other parents in the area. 

Busy Little Fingers!™ Course (BLF) -  After listening to our big helpers we have been having BIG IDEAS.  Our big helpers LOVE signing and being creative so we have introduced our Busy Little Fingers classes.

Busy Little Fingers Classes are theme based, 2hour Signing and Crafting experience for Children aged 4-8 accompanied by their grown-up. (Little helpers are always welcome too).  With Signing, Crafts and a little snack - your fingers will be busy and you will have some fab makes to keep!  Parents will love the relaxed friendly enviroment for their children to explore the theme - and that they can leave us to tidy up too.  All craft materials are supplied - just bring yourself, and some clothes you don't mind getting messy (Grown-ups too!) and get your fingers busy for fun!
