Little Signers Club

My name is Angie Hudson.  I am the Manager of Wittering and West Rural Children’s Centre.  I have worked in Early Years child care for the past 12 years.  My experience ranges from working in a pre-school as a room leader, being the setting’s Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator to my current role as centre manager.  I have recently completed a foundation degree in Early Years.  Over the years I have completed many courses in areas, such as Communication, Language and Literacy Development, Behaviour Management and special needs subjects such as Autism to name a few.

Wittering and West Rural Children’s Centre serves the communities of Wittering, Ailsworth and Castor, Sutton, Wansford, Thornhaugh, Wothorpe, Pilsgate, Barnack, Bainton, Helpston, Glinton and Marholm within the Peterborough region.  The Children’s Centre is run by Wittering Primary School.  The centre has been up and running in its new building fully since November 2010 and was officially opened on 4^th July 2011.

The centre offers a range of activities for parents to attend with their children, such as Baby Massage, Baby and Toddler Yoga, Musical Minis, Baby, Storytime, Special Needs Parent Support Group and more. The centre also offers support to parents whether they are seeking employment, assistance with benefits or support and advice from our resident Family Support Worker. The heath visitors deliver their baby clinics and developmental checks from the centre.

I am very excited to be adding Baby Signing, with the Little Signers Club programme, to the services offered from September 2011.
