£7.49
Limited Edition title
The Leaves on the Trees, a Rhyme and Sign Autumn invites young children and their grown-ups to experience the wonder of Autumn through playful rhymes, keyword sign language and the vibrant imagery associated with the Rhyme and Sign series from Little Signers Club.
“The leaves on the trees are falling down;
orange and red, yellow and brown.
They whirl and swirl in the wind that blows;
around and around and down they go!”
**The Leaves on the Trees, A ‘Rhyme and Sign’ Autumn available from 2nd September 2024**
Accompanied by British Sign Language Graphics, this cleverly illustrated dual language picture book shows you how to communicate the key words of the story with both signs and words.
You don't need any prior signing experience to use this book; its easy-to-use format makes topical sign language learning effortless, across all ages and abilities.
When sign language is used simultaneously with speech, children learn to connect both the sign and word with the object, outcome or observation. Research has shown that it is this connection that helps to provide children to retain and recall information effortlessly - giving all children a head start in communication, literacy and language.
Supported with sign language graphics from Cath Smith throughout, and captivating illustrations from Chris Hammond, learning through sign language and the accompanying rhyming couplets has never been so much fun!
The Leaves on the Trees is the fifth story book in the award winning Rhyme and Sign series. It is perfect for bedtime reading or snuggly story times, and sure to become an Autumn favourite that is requested over - and over - again!

I have all of the Little Signers Books, and I think they are all brilliant! This one, however, is my favourite!
The story reads very well, and it’s wonderfully engaging. The images are beautiful. And the signing is fantastic!
I highly recommend all of these books, for at home, for your nursery settings, for everywhere where there are children.
And they’re also really good for adults to learn from, too.

My 3 children who are 10, 5 and 3 adore this Rhyme and Sign book. My 10 year old reads this story to his siblings whilst they like to use the signs to reinforce any words they are unfamilar with. A brilliant learning experience across the ages! Thank you!

Where do I even begin? We have the whole Rhyme and Sign book set and I think this is the best so far. Each book is clearly created with a huge amount of care, and I love the tiny details that link this book to the others in the series. If you are starting out with British Sign Language these books make learning so easy, with sign language prompts on every page. What a stunning, stunning book – for children and adults alike.

We love this book in our house! The language is rich, the illustrations are beautiful and the repetition keeps our little boy hooked right to the very end. The Autumn story is so relevant to his daily life and he loves to put his wellies away just like they do in the story. We’ve learnt many new signs from the prompts on each page and the appearance of the characters from the other Rhyme and Sign books is a fun bonus.
