Welcome to our Fourth Trimester Circle

Providing gentle support for your parenting journey, through the earliest weeks with your baby.

For late pregnancy and the post natal period.

“Thank-you so, so much. This session was fab and we really appreciate all the extra effort you have made to bring us this class. This is the happiest and most normal we have felt all week.”
“As a speech and language therapist and (relatively) new mum, I can’t rate these online sessions highly enough. They are relaxed, inclusive and so much fun! Everything is presented in a really easy to follow way.”
“Using signing has helped me feel even closer to my baby and it is now part of our daily routine. It’s so uplifting to see all the other parents taking part, singing and signing with their children.”
I attended your online Fourth Trimester classes today with Ioanna, who is absolutely lovely!

“I attended the 4th trimester baby signing class with my 10 week old. Even though she slept peacefully throughout I still managed to take loads away from the class and have since been signing and singing to my baby putting everything I learned into practice! I love the concept and can’t wait to reap the benefits in the (hopefully near) future. Thank you”

Gentle Post Natal Classes for New Families

Our lovely Fourth Trimester Circle was developed especially to support the first three months after birth, more commonly known as the post-natal period. We’ve extended it to include late pregnancy, too, as the circles and bonds we form around us at this time are those that tend to last for years to come.

If you haven’t come across the concept before, the Fourth Trimester is named for that slower, sleepy time after birth, which lasts for between 12 and 15 weeks. It is a very special time, when your baby gradually awakens to the world; the transition between the cocooned warmth and security of the womb, to the loving embrace and safety of your arms.

You are your baby’s everything right now.  And, at this stage of infancy, touch and smell are the most developed senses.  Your baby can only see for a short distance in front of them (perhaps 30 – 40 cm) and they have no control over their gross motor skills either, so little arms can flail.

Your baby simply isn’t ready for signing, just yet.

It will be months before your baby will be able to make signs back to you but you’ll be pleased to know that doesn’t mean that even very little babies can’t understand your signs from a young age, if you take things slowly.

And that’s where our gentle, developmentally appropriate, approach comes in.

Together, we will explore the signs that are most useful to you right now and why you should use them.  We’ll be learning about what to expect and how to use baby signing correctly, as well as how to read your baby’s cues and clues.

Perhaps most importantly, you’ll learn how baby signing supports you in protecting your baby’s mental health, which in turn helps to build your baby’s happy brain and gives you confidence in your parenting.

We look forward to welcoming you along.

“Who wouldn’t want their child to be the first to be communicating, to be the most chilled out, to be happier, to have a real head-start?”

baby signing Daddy, Ben.

“The sessions in the course are intimate and you are able to learn the signs, songs and ask any questions you may have.”
“My little girl was sick all day. Despite the fact that she was really upset she was able to sign to me that she wanted blueberries. That, to me, is what signing is about; being able to communicate even before she can talk and in difficult situations. She looked so relieved once she knew she was understood.’”
“The packs that come with the course are excellent, they have everything you need to practice before, after and refer back to at anytime. I would highly recommend the online course.
Thank you so much.”
